Grand Opening / Wedding Weekend

Two Saturdays ago, we were busy busy!!

First, we had the pleasure of performing at the grand opening for Hot Pot Garden in Millbrae. If you have never tried the Hot Pot Garden in SF, you are MISSING OUT. It’s one of our favorite hot pot places in the city so we were very happy to perform at their new location. With two lions, we gave the restaurant our best wishes on a beautiful sunny afternoon.

Check out our video below. As you may notice, our videography went up a few notches as we’re trying out a more artistic approach for some of our performances :)

Following that, we were given the opportunity to take a boat ride (yeah, that’s right!!!) to perform at a wedding along the SF coast. We all had a blast riding on a boat with our lion heads–it’s the first time they’ve been on a boat too! With two lions, we performed for the happy newlyweds and their guests. We had a great time performing with you two. Thanks for dancing with us and best wishes!

Wedding Super Performance

2014_07_12_29

In mid-July, we had the honor of performing for a close friend at his wedding. It was one of our longest performances, around 15 minutes long! We were quite prepared for this, with 5 lions, benches, and a cool GoPro angle. It starts out with 5 lions, continues on while 2 take on the benches to do some risky stunts, and then the 5 lions end the performance together.

One of our favorite shots of the night:

LPGA Swinging Skirts Classic

“The Swinging Skirts Golf Team is a private, Taiwanese non-profit organization made up of both men and women amateur golfers with a shared goal of growing the game of golf across the globe via sponsoring top women’s golf tournaments and top female players!

The Swinging Skirts members are avid golfers who wear colorful kilts when playing the game to pay homage to one of golf’s oldest traditions, which was born hundreds of years ago at The Home of Golf: St. Andrews in Scotland.

The vision for the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic aims to be a true celebration of Golf, Arts and Culture. It will be a world-class golf tournament featuring the top players from the LPGA, but will also showcase some of the top international talent from Taiwan. At Lake Merced, the Swinging Skirts will also display their love for art, with plenty of colorful sculptures and cultural designs that will be placed throughout the course for the public to see. The Swinging Skirts team is embracing bringing the LPGA back to the Bay Area, so in addition to the art pieces on-site, you can expect plenty of San Francisco’s finest local fare, including the area’s best food trucks, area businesses and vendor displays.

In a city with one of the most famous bridges in the world, the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic hopes to be a true bridge between East and West!” - http://www.swingingskirtslpgaclassic.com/about

We had the awesome opportunity of performing for the closing ceremony of the Swinging Skirts Tournament at the Lake Merced Golf Course.  The 18th green was our stage and it was a tight fit for our 2 lions and dragon!  Thanks for choosing us to celebrate with you!  Congrats to Lydia Ko for her first LPGA title!

Surprise 50th Birthday Party

We received a request from a husband wanting to surprise his wife for her birthday with a performance from us. Upon arrival, we made sure to hide down the block to keep our lions as much of a surprise as possible.  Show time came and we had a great time,  the crowd was awesome! Thanks Dave for having us, we hope you and your wife have many more happy birthdays!

Olympic Club Wedding & Steph Curry!!!

Here we are getting ready for our performance.  Then low and behold, who do we see finishing up a round of golf?  Stephen Curry!  Needless to say we were very excited to meet him.  He was really nice and let us take pictures with him and he even got under a lion head!  Pretty awesome experience, and yes he is actually quite a good golfer too.

After being inspired by meeting our Bay Area hero, we kicked things off!   The Olympic Club venue was really nice and had plenty of space for us to perform.  Congrats to the newlyweds and thank you for letting us share your special day with you!  Also thanks to UMeUsStudios for the awesome pictures!
